so i didn't win anything the other weekend in boston but that's okay. it was fun. i liked boston.

now i'm just wondering if those raids are really going to happen or not. maybe they're just trying to make people all paranoid. and i don't give a fuck, i'm still calling them raids.

[The video starts with a shirtless Nick smoking a cigarette and staring intently at the camera for a second as he exhales.]

I just got off work. Don't worry, I'm not naked. I've got boxers on, at least. I think I'm just going to start only wearing them for a while though. Wearing a uniform in this weather is completely shitty. It was my last day though, so I don't have to deal with that anymore. There's a competition up in Boston that I'm going to so I think I'll stay up there a while at least until

[He stops abruptly as if thinking better of what he was about to say, then takes a drag of his cigarette.]

Anyway, I've never been there before. I'm not even sure where it is but I hope it's cooler. I've never been in a skate competition before either, so I hope I don't suck too much. It'd be pretty cool if I placed so I could get some cash but I don't have my hopes up. So... yeah. Don't miss me too much, New York.

oh man this is totally awesome. i got a sponsor today. and another job. it's at the same place, a board shop in d3 called empire skate. if you skate at all, check them out. i'm going to give lessons, too. now i don't know if i should my other job working security at nyu or not. chasing squirrels in the golf cart has kinda gotten old, especially in this heat.

[The dimly-lit video opens up to Nick's face zoomed in close, with everything around him dark. The angle suggests that he may be lying on his stomach. His eyes are a bit blood-shot and staring directly into the camera for a second, before shifting back and forth.]

Sooo, word of warning, even if you don't usually get paranoid after smoking some weed, watching those Alpha Decay videos is not the best idea. I mean, if I had a bed to hide under, I think I'd be there right now. But all I have is a golf cart, so I guess that's good enough. Except I think I might be...

[The camera wobbles as Nick wriggles around]

[He wriggles a little more before remembering to turn off the camera.]

i never thought i'd ever be this full again. i think i'm actually going to be sick. but there's still like three booths left.

anyway, totally different topic, but i've been wondering if anyone out there with a camera wouldn't mind filming me skating? i've decided to try sending something to a few sponsors. i'd pay for lunch or dinner or whatever but that's like all i could do.

it'd be cool to get that prize but i just can't see the point of patriotism anymore. i'm sure i'll get shit for that but whatever. and it looks i'll be working more so there's not even really any time for it.

anyway, i finally get paid on thursday. about fucking time. not that i'll get to use it for anything cool or even just useful though.

even though it's like the 4th father's day since the bomb, i'm way more bummed out today than i usually am. i think it's because the fast few years, i never really kept track of what the days were. it didn't really matter. for a few weeks i'd see christmas stuff in store windows and then one day, it'd all be gone. that's a lot harder to do now. i guess that's the one really bug drawback i've found to being back online. holidays and things are just never going to not suck.

i never really got soccer. or team sports, i guess. i played when i was little because like everyone did but i really sucked at it. the worst someone else can do when you're surfing is steal your wave. how good you do is mostly up to you, though. i don't know if that makes it harder or not though. anyway, i decided if i can't be a pro surfer anymore, i'm going to be a pro skater.

so with a lot of people wanting to leave the country even more lately, i was wondering if you could leave and live anywhere else, where would it be? or if you didn't want to leave the country but you had to.

me, i think probably costa rica. good waves, good weather all year round so i could just live on the beach again and i could probably pick spanish back up again pretty quickly. though the time i visited, a lot people spoke english at least a little. or maybe el salvador. i heard it's less crowded there.

guess who finally got a job. i was about to say fuck it too so it was about time. its only part time but a pretty sweet gig. campus security at nyu. so maybe i'll see some of you guys around

memorial day just doesn't feel right if i'm not camping on the beach.

i went to the nic place yesterday and the line looked like this:


so i went and looked for jobs instead and i found a few places with help wanted signs but when i asked for an application they all said they weren't hiring. what the hell? am i doing something wrong?

and i didn't feel like dealing with either of those today, so maybe tomorrow. oh and anyone know if public defenders are as useless as they usually seem in movies?

[Despite being poorly lit, when the video starts playing, viewers will see a tired Nick, with a face that's not dissimilar from several other faces recent — that is, there he's sporting a black eye and a few cuts. When he speaks, he sounds slightly hoarse (and pissed off), as if he's been yelling a lot recently.]

Just a word of advice for those who don't have a NIC... you're going to want to get one. I have no idea how to get another one if you lost it, or if it got stolen somehow, and I have no idea how much they cost but compared to the fine if you don't have one, it's probably worth it. Anyone know what happens when you can't pay the fine if you're lucky enough to get hit with one? Because as much as this city sucks right now, I'd rather be here than in jail again.

[The video opens with a shirtless Nick looking thoughtfully into the camera. His expressions changes slightly after a fraction of a second, as if realizing the damn thing finally decided to start recording after all. He clears his throat and then speaks into the camera in his usual voice that sounds like a half-stoned, post-modern surfer dude drawl.]

Uh, hey. So I heard that naked cowboy dude makes mad bank and he's not even really naked so I thought I'd try a little experiment.

[He grins mischeivously as the camera zooms out to reveal a genuinely naked Nick sitting and leaning against a brick wall, with nothing but his guitar covering him up. It also looks as if a bit of a crowd has started to gather.]

I even wrote a little song.

[He begins to play his guitar and sings:

And probably isn't even really a cowboy, either—

There is a slight commotion from the back of the crowd and Nick stops and looks up.]

Shit, gotta run!

[He scrambles up to his feet and takes off down the sidewalk with two police officers in hot pursuit.]

really? it's cool now to dress like a bum, really? you can't even let us the bums have their own style? i guess that makes that clothing drive kind of useless now, at least until the trend is over. or maybe it's an excuse to just take their clothes.

so i was thinking, if i'd actually gone to college for more than like two months, i'd probably be graduating soon. i have no idea what i would have majored in, though. i always thought i'd make it as a surfer, but i was wrong. i never really cared about school though. anyway i know a lot people go to college but what about those of us who didn't. do you regret it? did it kind of fuck you over? that's what they always said it would do but i think a lot of things are higher on the list of things that have fucked me over.
